What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We take privacy seriously here at PSM. The personally identifiable information we have is only what you submit to us. It is used to send you information we think you might be interested in or information that you request. While we do use data processors, form providers, etc – that help us manage communications, we never sell, rent or otherwise give away your information to 3rd parties unless we were compelled by law – and we don’t think the police are too interested in our mailing list. At Paid Search Magic we’ve committed ourselves to using data ethically, responsibly and transparently. If you have any questions about the data we collect in general or any data you’ve submitted to us, please email us at privacy@paidsearchmagic.com.

When you contact us

When you subscribe to PSM your name and email address are recorded using a third-party data management vendor. However, only we can see and use that data. You can unsubscribe any time using the “unsubscribe” link we include in our communications.
When you submit an affiliate or paid search management request to us we, we ask that you supply us with your contact information and additional notes about your business and goals. We use this information to check to see if we are a good match and to put together a personal response. This information is never sold or rented.

Cookies

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We use industry-standard analytics such as Google Analytics. This helps us gauge the effectiveness of our content, optimize site performance, and determine overall traffic usage patterns. This data is in aggregate and does not contain any personally identifiable information. (PII)

Who we share your data with

We don’t. All information provided to us is used either in contacting you or in providing you a service, product or communication you’ve either asked for, or in the case of subscriptions, information we think you may be interested in.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service and forms are processed by third-party form and lead tracking partners.

Your contact information

We only maintain contact information that you supply us. You can unsubscribe at any time or ask us to delete any contact information we have about you. Please email any such requests to privacy@paidsearchmagic.com.

How we protect your data:

We limit those who have access to your data to trusted senior employees and make a good faith effort to protect your information with controlled access credentials, system updates and other industry-standard methods.

What automated decision making/profiling we do with user data

We do use some marketing automation to track our interactions with users. We may use 3rd-party vendors to manage this process.

What’s the bottom line?

We’re in the paid media management and training business. All the data we retain is used towards providing the best user experience we know how. Your data is yours. If you don’t want us to contact you, we won’t. If you do, we will. If you want to know what information we have about you, please email us at privacy@paidsearchmagic.com with your name and from the email address you’ve submitted to us.

Thanks so much for visiting. And until next time…
